Narciss Okhravi

Narciss works as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon specialising in Medical Retina and Uveitis at Moorfields Eye Hospital NHSFT. She is a Principal Fellow of Higher Education Academy, Professorial Teaching Fellow at UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, and Associate Dean to Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry at Queen Mary, University of London.
Narciss qualified in 1989 from Royal London Medical School and has been a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon since January 2004. She obtained a PhD in Ophthalmology in 1999, Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education in 2010 and a Postgraduate Certificate in Leadership (Quality Improvement) in 2014. She is an alumna of NHS Staff College, The Health Foundation and Ashridge Business School. Narciss has enjoyed a lifelong interest in education of healthcare professionals, both at undergraduate and at postgraduate level. She is renowned internationally for her clinical work, research and education expertise. As a champion of patient and public involvement (PPI), Narciss has a record of accomplishment in this area since 2009, and continues to involve patients in her education and clinical work to this day. Her work has influenced the attitudes and approach of others, with impact and recognition received both nationally and internationally.
