Director from the Membership

Daniel is an emergency medicine trainee in the Northwest of England currently completing a sub-specialty fellowship in paediatric emergency medicine at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. He is also a NIHR Clinical Lecturer in emergency medicine at Lancaster University. He was previously Awards Lead for TASME where he worked on the development of the TASME Mentorship Prize and ASM Communication Prize. He served as Chair of the Emergency Medicine Trainees’ Association (EMTA) from 2020-2022 and has held roles with the Academy of Medical Royal College, the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, the British Medical Association, and Health Education England.

Daniel has conducted research into the emergency medicine workforce and early academic careers, as well as more broadly across health professions education and patient safety. His methodological focus is interviewing and ethnography alongside literature review work. He works with the GMC on development and delivery of the PLAB B assessment and works for Manchester City providing crowd medical cover. Basically, no two days are the same and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

As director from the membership, I aim to try and understand the views of members and to represent these to the board. Please contact me with anything you would like to share.
