ASM 2020 TCT Supplement image

Congratulations to all our abstract authors from the postponed ASM 2020 “Disrupting Medical Education” in getting their work published in a special supplement of the October edition of The Clinical Teacher (TCT).  As we reported in our June newsletter, ASME made the decision to publish all the accepted abstracts in the supplement even though the conference was postponed.  It was important that all the hard work from not only the authors and researchers, but the abstract reviewers had not gone to waste and was recognised.

All the abstracts are compiled under the relevant theme within the supplement.  It includes all accepted abstracts for prestigious presentations, oral presentations, short communications and e-posters.  Not only that, but a first for ASME and possibly for any conference proceedings, the video abstracts have also been incorporated into the TCT supplement.  As this is an online journal, just click on the relevant abstract and the video will play.  Another example of how ASME is constantly pushing the boundaries of communication and technology.

This supplement is a prelude to producing another one next year about our ASM.  The aim will be to not only have abstracts but also other outputs from the conference.  Therefore, if you do miss the conference, you can find out what was presented and what key decisions and discussions took place.  We might even be able to upload e-posters – There’s a challenge for us.

We are always keen to hear from members and get feedback on our developments.  Therefore, once you have read (and watched) it, please let us know what you think by contacting Dr Kim Walker who is our Director of Publications: director-publications@asme.org.uk.
