Whilst working towards her PhD at the University of Leicester, Riya achieved multiple awards including The Teaching Partnership Award, The Leicester Award and Finalist for Outstanding Commitment to Professional Development Award. Riya has also received multiple prestigious awards outside the University of Leicester for her PhD Research and for the development of innovative teaching material in diversity education, including being a Finalist for the Best Original Research Paper by ASME and her research was nominated to be presented at the Parliamentary House of Commons STEM 2017, achieving her the Silver Award for Biomedical Sciences and was featured on the BBC.
