JASME Local Representatives in London are delighted to present a webinar by Dr Debasish Das (MD, MEd, FRCP) who will be providing an introduction to qualitative research methodologies and how to apply them in Medical Education research.
Key learning objectives of the webinar include to: 1. Recognise the role of Qualitative Research 2. Understanding the methodologies, data analysis and reporting of Qualitative Research 3. Quality control and combining outcomes of Qualitative Research 4. Application of Qualitative Research in Medical Education
Dr Debasish Das is a Consultant Hepatologist and Deputy Director of Medical Education at Kettering General Hospital. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer and Clinical Academic Tutor and in Medical Education, University of Leicester.
Dr Das graduated from Medical College, Calcutta in 1996 and did his post graduate degree in Medicine from the Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education and Research (University of Calcutta). Subsequently he completed his specialist training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology from Leicester and Newcastle and joined Kettering General Hospital as a consultant in 2010. Beside being a fulltime clinician, he has been involved in clinical research as a hepatologist and been Principal Investigator for several trials like PBC-UK, ASEPTIC, BOPP, DiliGen, Victrelis-PASS, AspECT. He is also involved in Medical Education and is a Clinical Academic Tutor with the Medical School at Leicester. He completed his Masters in Education (for Healthcare Professionals) from University of Birmingham with dissertation on Artificial Intelligence in Medical Education and regularly hosts SSC students and also leads on projects for LUMRS (Link initiative) for student research. Recently he led a team of six medical students to publish “What do we know about patients’ perspectives and expectations relating to palliative and end-of-life care in advanced liver disease? A systematic review of qualitative literature using ENTREQ guidelines”.
