ASME Research Methodology Group: Lunchtime Journal Club April

26th April 2024

The purpose of the RMG Special Interest Group is to provide a forum for discussion of research paradigms and approaches to support the work of the Educational Research Committee (ERC) and wider ASME aims.  In line with that, the ASME RMG Journal Club is an opportunity to meet together online to look at a recent medical education journal paper in the field, with a particular focus on methodologies.

It will meet on the last Friday of every other month, February – June (and then break for summer).  The next meeting of RMG’s 23/24 Lunchtime Journal Club will be on Friday 26th April, from 1:00 – 2:00pm. All are welcome to come along and join in the discussion.

The paper under discussion will be: Godoi et al (2024) Construction and validation of a medical career readiness Inventory

Note: The textbook highlighted at the recent RME conference in London ‘Starting Research in Clinical Education’ (Rees, Ledger & Walker, 2024) has a chapter on survey research (Chapter 20: Survey research: use and misuse), which provides useful background for anyone unfamiliar with the approach.

Professor Michal Tombs, RMG chair, will be presenting the paper and facilitating the associated discussion.  All welcome!

The RMG Lunchtime Journal Club will meet again on June 28th 2024.
