ASME MiME (Mindfulness in Medical Education) Special Interest Group

One of the intentions of the ASME Special Interest Group Mindfulness in Medical Education is to support mindfulness related research.  The ASME-MiME Research Award is designed to provide a student of healthcare (undergraduate student or postgraduate student in training) with the opportunity to undertake a piece of research related to mindfulness in medical education or healthcare. This could be any aspect of mindfulness or mindfulness based practices, from its role in well being to clinical decision making. This is in recognition for the need for further high-quality research-based evidence related to this field in medical education and healthcare.

Applications up to the value of £500 and up to 12 months in duration will be considered. The award is designed to cover expenses involved in undertaking the research and so wage support will not be covered by this award. You will be provided with academic support from an identified member of the ERC, MiME (or TASME/ JASME) but you should have an associated academic base as your main support (i.e. NHS organisation of academic institution) and should have identified a supervisor within your host organization to guide and supervise your work.  We would expect the successful candidate to present their proposal at the MiME Conference  in 2023 or 2024 and apply to  present their work at the 2023 or 2024  ASME Annual Scholarship meeting.

All ASME members are eligible to apply, provided their organisation is capable of fulfilling the role of a research sponsor (e.g. an NHS organisation or academic institution). The deadline for 2022 applications will be 5pm 1st December 2022.  This deadline is final and no applications can be accepted past this deadline

We particularly welcome applicants from diverse and under-represented backgrounds.
