We invite submissions of abstracts concerned with researching medical education with a critical focus on questions asked, methods used, and implications for future research.
There are two categories of presentation:
1. Presentations in parallel sessions
This section is for researchers wishing to have a forum to present their work and receive feedback. Papers with a methodological focus would be especially welcome. 15 minutes is allowed for presentation with 5 minutes for comment and feedback.
2. Presentations in doctoral session
This section is for colleagues undertaking doctoral study (PhD/EdDs) who would like the opportunity to discuss their work in progress - particularly their approach to conducting their research.20 minutes is allowed for presentation with 10 minutes for comment and feedback
Abstracts of all accepted papers will appear in the background papers for the conference, and also on the ASME website.
Guidelines
- Papers should address issues concerning researching medical education. The abstract should indicate the context, methodology, results and main conclusion(s) of the paper, as appropriate.
- The abstract should not be more than 300 words in length
- Deadline for submission of abstracts is 5pm 28th June 2010
- Decisions will be announced week beginning Monday 5th July 2010
Quoted references in the paper cited in the abstract should be listed at the end, and the Harvard reference style should be followed.
A panel of assessors will judge submitted abstracts on the following criteria:
- Originality
- Quality of research design
- Importance of content in informing research for a national and international audience
Please note that allocation of presentation slots throughout the conference will be determined by the conference organisers and once allocated cannot be altered. We cannot accept individual requests for specific timings due to scheduling complexities.
Authors of accepted submissions must register for the conference as delegates. We look forward to receiving your abstract, by 5pm Monday 28th June 2010.
Please note: amendments to abstracts cannot be made after the closing date.
