Supported
by Wiley-BlackwellCall for Applications Deadline: 30 January 2009
The Association for the Study of Medical Education, which includes in its goals the promotion of high quality research into medical education, invites Members (including undergraduate student members) to submit a description of a piece of work, survey, research or innovation in teaching in the field of medical and healthcare education.
Some educational research projects or teaching innovations often require modest amounts of funding to cover expenses such as focus group attendance, travel, simulated patient fees and these grants are intended to assist these projects. The grants are not intended to supplement the natural support that institutions should give to individuals and therefore cannot be used to fund computing equipment, overheads, research assistants/associates and similar. ASME welcomes submissions from new researchers.
Preliminary applications
Preliminary applications should be made on one side of A4 (minimum font size 12pt) outlining:
The Education Research Group may ask for a more detailed proposal from those short-listed.
The maximum award per individual or project under the scheme will be £2,000 or equivalent (bids for smaller amounts of funding will of course be considered). Successful applicants will be expected to submit a report of their work to ASME Council and invited to submit an application for presentation at the Annual Scientific Meeting in Edinburgh, 15-17 July 2009.
Members should make their applications by 30 January 2009, and short listed proposals will be informed by 1 April 2009
