Conference Format

The conference programme includes:

Welcome Reception
Wednesday 10 September

This year’s Welcome Reception will be held in The National Space Centre. The Space Centre is the UK’s largest attraction dedicated to space, science and astronomy. It has five differently themed galleries enabling visitors to take a journey of discovery through the wonders of the universe.

Light refreshments and a fork buffet will be provided.

Coach transfers to the Welcome Reception and the Annual Dinner will be provided from a convenient location in the city centre. Coach timetables will be available from the conference registration desk.

Annual Dinner
Thursday 11 September

The Annual Dinner will be held in the art deco themed Athena Ballroom. Originally designed in 1936 by Robert Arthur Bullivant as an Odeon Cinema, the venue represented one of the largest most extravagant buildings within the region comprising of one screen seating over 2,000 guests. The cinema was sub-divided in the 1960s an remained closed through much of the 1990s. The building has now been restored to its former glory and retains its original art deco splendour.
