Welcome
Reception - Wednesday 11 JulyThe Welcome Reception will be held at Trentham Gardens. The magnificent Italian Gardens remain true to Charles Barry’s original creation for the Duke of Sutherland, but have been given a new contemporary feel through the modern planting by award winning garden designers Tom Stuart-Smith and Piet Oudolf. The imposing statue of Perseus stands over the lower garden at the foot of the lake and looks up over the formal garden with all seven of its restored fountains. The garden has something for everyone and provides a different atmosphere almost every week.
The reception will be followed by a fork buffet.
Coach transfers to the Welcome Reception will be provided from the Halls of Residence on campus. Coach timetables will be available from the conference registration desk.
The Annual Dinner will be held in Keele Hall. This Victorian mansion, one of Staffordshire’s finest stately homes, was previously home to the Sneyd family and stands in hundreds of acres of lush parkland and immaculate gardens.
