ASME Golden Jubilee 24 Hour Conference18-19 October 2007
The O'Reilly Hall & Health Sciences Complex, University College Dublin, Ireland
The ASME conference in Maastricht on the History of Medical Education in July 2006 looked at past, present and future trends in medical education, and coincided with the 40th anniversary of the publication of Medical Education. This conference will look at the future of global medical education and Europe's role in this.
Trends to be examined include moves to graduate entry and dual (undergraduate and postgraduate) models; the migration of doctors from within the wider EU; implications of Bologna; underperforming doctors, self and peer assessment; faculty development and accreditation of medical teachers; internationalising the undergraduate curriculum; together with the place of European medical schools in the provision of doctor training.

The conference will be of interest to all those involved in all aspects of medical/healthcare education and training.
This conference will be a forum for all medical/healthcare educators with undergraduate, postgraduate or CPD responsibilities and interests. It is an opportunity to report and discuss themes, research and initiatives with colleagues from the UK and abroad.

Welcome ReceptionThe Welcome Reception will be held in The Rotunda, The National Museum of Ireland, Kildare Street, Dublin. There will be a fork buffet will be provided and short guided tours of the Museum will also be provided.
