Clinical Skills: Fit for Practice?
24th April 2007 - RIBA, 66 Portland Place, London

Conference supported by

The clinical skills movement has expanded in both numbers and remit but it now seems time to re-examine its place in healthcare education and look to develop a new strategy.

The former Clinical Skills Network has been very helpful in promoting the discipline, and the first international meeting devoted to Clinical Skills, from Monash University in Prato in 2005, confirmed the world interest.

The Scottish Clinical Skills Network has been running successfully since 2001.

This conference has been designed to showcase some of the developments in clinical skills work in the UK and looks to re-establish a professional network supported by ASME.

So if you want to come and hear about latest developments, compare your own practice with like-minded colleagues, and join in a facilitated network, then this conference is for you. The conference will be of interest to all those working in clinical skills and to all clinical teachers and managers, both undergraduate and postgraduate.

Objectives

 The conference will:

  1. Share knowledge and evidence from recent work through keynote presentations, workshops, posters and discussions
  2. Highlight good practice
  3. Publicise and develop an ASME supported clinical skills group through a web page and email group
