Why Come?  Here's Why!

Developing Leaders in Healthcare Education (Residential Course)

30 July - 4 August 2006 and 22 - 27 July 2007
Cumberland Lodge, Windsor Great Park, Berkshire, UK

A truly outstanding course you cannot choose to ignore!

Don’t take our word for it - read the words of past participants. Quite an endorsement.

The Educational Leadership Course was an enjoyable and inspiring week: hard work and intellectually challenging, but a fantastic mix of work and cases of leadership from education, medicine & business; a blend of theory and practice; superb facilitation and a wonderful bunch of delegates from across healthcare.

The course has already changed what I do, and am likely to do in the future as well as provided friends and contacts. Just brilliant!

The outstanding Educational Leadership Course was a defining moment in my career as a medical educator. The course challenged me to think and feel differently about leading change. It filled me with increased levels of emotional energy and gave me new ideas on how to transform my organisation to meet the challenges ahead.

New friendships were made and new working partnerships forged during a week that was tremendous fun in the sunshine in Windsor. An unforgettable experience! I would strongly recommend the course to educators wanting to learn new and effective methods of change management and who want to develop leadership skills in a supportive but challenging environment.

I cannot say just how much impact the ASME course has had on me. My objective of attending the course was to find myself as a new Professor whom I believe has huge responsibilities to promote dental education. The week was outstanding in every sense and all my expectations were fully met. The scary thing is that I now have to put all I learnt into practice to fulfil that desire.

I participated in the ASME Educational Leadership Course in 2004 as one of three non-UK course participants. The course, with a group of people who differed in educational background but all shared an intense interest in improving medical education, made a lasting impression on me. For a week we shared our experiences and learned together under the support of a dedicated and experienced staff. In my job as a professor of medical education at the University of Aarhus, Denmark, I regularly make use of the course whether it is networking with other course participants or using techniques or knowledge gained on the course.
